Award for Humanitarian Action

As Brooks Newmark is back working on the ground in Ukraine to support civilians and injured soldiers, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence officially awarded him for over two years of humanitarian work with his charity Angels for Ukraine. In a ceremony with the Military Administration of Kharkiv Oblast, Brooks Newmark together with his partner and charity co-founder Raitis Bullits, each received Ukraine’s Medal for Voluntary Valour,  for voluntary bravery and significant humanitarian contributions. 

Kharkiv region remains a major hub for Angels for Ukraine since the early days of war, having previously evacuated over 11,000 women and children from front line villages in 2022-2023, in addition to delivering large amount of aid and moving several thousand wounded soldiers to hospitals in Ukraine and across Europe.
